BEAU IS AFRAID

For this project the client requested two posters for an upcoming movie by A24, 'Beau Is Afraid'. One poster had to have only three spot colours, with no CMYK in the file, and the other had no restrictions. I was also tasked to make a mockup for how this movie would look inside 'Netflix'.

Mindmapping

I began this project by watching the watching the movie, and then creating a mindmap about the general ideas that I thought were important in the movie, and further expanding on them. I tried to pin down a couple concepts that I could run with for the posters.

Sketching

I then went on to try to illustrate some of the concepts I had generated. I tried to both use scenes from the movie that I thought could double as a poster, as well as more abstract interpretations of some scenes.

Illustrations

After I had my ideas that I wanted to realise, I pivoted to Adobe Illustrator to create them.

This project had a quick turnaround, so not that many meetings with clients were possible. They did like the concepts I had generated initially so we decided I just needed to push these ideas a little further to resolve them.
